Adoption FAQ

Majestic Diary

October 27, 2009

Gulliver was adopted out... it was so hard to say good-bye to him even though his new home is so perfect for him. He will have a Pekin girlfriend named Buttercup. His family came with Switch in mind, but I just knew when they met him they would choose him since he is so friendly and cuddly, whereas Mr. Switch is pretty shy.

We've only had 5 ducklings here: Switch, Lilly, Piper, Bonnie and Gulliver. I raised them all from babies and Gulliver is the first to be adopted out. It was very different from adopting out an adult duck. Even though they are all my babies, Gulliver was my first "baby" to be adopted out. I cried and had a very hard night of it, but the family emailed and told me how much they love him and how happy he is... and that's good...

An adoption application came through for O'Malley as well and we approved it. He will go to a loving home with 3 Khaki hens next week.

Today a newcomer named Matilda joined us and she is SO cute and friendly. She is helping mend my heart, that's for sure.
