Suffice it to say... all is well at Majestic! The bulk of the storm missed us and we did not lose power, woo-hooo!

Raising Funds for Barn Plumbing Repairs

We have a burst pipe in our underground plumbing system to our barn hydrant. We are currently making due with a cut-off valve and only turning on the water briefly while filling buckets and pools, but this is only a short-term solution.

We have plumbers coming out to the sanctuary soon to re-trench and set down new underground piping. They will need to jackhammer away the cement flooring of the barn to replace the piping to the hydrant and we will be installing a brand new hydrant to replace the old one, which we've been repairing piece-by-piece for the last ten years, to keep it functioning.

We anticipate this to be a two-day project and all ducks will have to stay outside in their pens overnight while the barn foundation is under constuction. Since our enclosures are all predator-proof and have hay houses of their own (and all night swimming!), this should not be an issue for any of our rescues.

We have a few strategies in place to help fund this project, which we'll share in some of the other articles of this Majestic newsletter!

Eeben's Arthritis

Eeben has developed arthritis in his right ankle. He has been to the vet for x-rays and has another vet appointment coming soon. He is on weekly Adequan injections, oral meloxicam tablets twice daily and is going to Wizard of Paws in Colchester, CT (@wizard.of.paws) for weekly laser therapy sessions and a bit of physical therapy too! We are also utilizing his Assisi Loop on a regular basis. Combined, we're hoping to keep this seven year-old, big boy happily waddling for as long as possible!

We want to thank everyone who donated $65 laser therapy sessions for Eeben! WOW! Twelve sessions in all! We also want to thank those of you who donated partial therapy sessions because they added up to another two sessions! AMAZING!

For those of you who aren't following us on social media, you've missed these utensils touring our sanctuary and Marv's ducky birthday party extravaganza (@dean_crowley_marv_duck) for the past month--hilarious FUN!

Majestic Sponsorship Tubes Are Back!

Our poll results are in! They revealed that 86% of our Majestic voters prefer to have SURPRISE gift items inside of their sponsorship tubes! It's been decided that this would be way more FUN! This will also save Kim a good chuck of time because repeatedly taking photos of newly swapped-out gift items and continually updating the website has proven itself challenging.

Going forward, all of our sponsorship tubes will be pre-stuffed and ready to label, stamp and ship, so there will be no way of confirming contents, or choosing colors--just enjoy the mystery! We promise they will still be plenty of fun for gift recipients! This new system of random gift items also allows us to throw an extra special goody into one or two tubes here and there for an added surprise!

Please understand, we are still limiting our visits to the post office to once a week, but Kim always tries her best to get everything out as soon as possible for everyone with a strategically planned trip. Once gift tubes ship, she will be in touch with your detailed tracking information.
