Joker & Riddles are a pair of Indian Runner
ducks who were rescued from a pond. This comical pair
were in our sanctuary for nearly two years before
finally finding a wonderful new home.
They joined a family with four chicken hens and a
roomy and safe predator proof pen.
It was bittersweet seeing these boys head on their
way after such a long stay with us, but we are so glad
to see them off into their new lives in a happy, forever
home.
A man was witnessed dumping this pair of geese off on
Amston Pond in Connecticut. The geese were traumatized by the sudden change in
their environment and were reacting by running out into
the street and chasing passing cars. We immediately went
out to the site and captured the two friendly geese
within minutes of our arrival. China Girl was
recovering from what appeared to be a fox or dog bite on
her hind quarters. She was treated and adopted out in
tip-top condition!Bowie
was an impressive ruler of the gaggle, very kind and
even tempered. He was very
protective of his little “China Girl" and would act on her every
whim, and she manipulated him greatly during their stay
here. It was pretty funny to watch! Both were friendly
and inquisitive geese and enjoyed playing with their
colored cups of water.
Bowie & China Girl and Ali & Chan all went together to a new
and loving home where they joined up with a Toulouse
hen.
