Kim has lots of new duck books out this month (she'll be focusing on her new goose books in 2015).
Part of the proceeds from all Happy Duck book sales benefit our rescued ducks & geese!
While we receive more proceeds when you purchase from our own storefront, most of these titles are also available through Amazon.

Fundraising Contest!
People love emailing and messaging us their ideas for Majestic fundraisers, but we simply don't have the time (we're still outside rebuilding our pens!). In light of this (and in light of our checking account being so low), we're going to turn the tables around and give YOU a chance to show us how it's done!
To further inspire you, we're going to give away 3 color copies of Kim's NEW Ultimate Pet Duck Guidebook to the three people who can raise the most funds for our sanctuary!
Contest Runs: November 1st - December 5th, 2014
Contest Rules:
1. Email Us with your fundraising idea (bake sale, yard sale, can/bottle recycling, awareness campaign, etc.) to register. There is no deadline to enter as long as you begin before the contest ends! Please include your full name, mailing address and phone number in this email.
2. We will send you a confirmation email to let you know you're officially entered in the contest. You must have this email from us if you want to try to win a prize book.
3. When you send Majestic the donations you've raised from your fundraiser, ideally you'll want to mail a check (made payable to: Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary). You can send us your donation by Paypal, but... we can't count any percentages they deduct (transaction fees) as part of your total tally.
4. If you're doing an awareness campaign and raising funds by spreading the word about Majestic, ask people to make their donations via check made payable to: Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary. Then, you can mail all of their checks together at the end of the fundraiser, or you can send them in batches along the way if you prefer. If... someone would rather donate by Paypal they certainly may, just be sure to ask them to put your FULL NAME in the comments section, so you get credit for their donation.
5. All Paypal donations must be received by the contest's close--midnight (EST) December 5th, 2014 in order to count toward your total tally.
6. All checks must be dated on or before the date of the contest's close (12/5/14) and then mailed and received by Majestic by December 12, 2014 in order to count toward your total tally. Please email us and let us know when any checks are in route and we will confirm their receipt with you.
7. Any and all donations/fundraiser proceeds you receive MUST be passed along and donated to Majestic--no matter how small!
8. Your fundraising project must raise a minimum of $100.00 in order to qualify for winning the book. If you raise under this amount, you still need to forward your donations along to Majestic.
The three people who run the top three fundraisers will each receive a color copy of The Ultimate Pet Duck Guidebook, 2nd Edition valued at $65.00 each!

Carmella's Quack
Remember our rescued Coffee Ducks: Carmella, Hazel & Bean? Well, they're new Momma Raye Hodgson wrote a book about little Carmella!
What is a person to do when one of her ducks loses her quack? This simple story of an unusual problem in the flock tells of one of the trials of caring for them, and of the delights and worries of a flockmistress. Raye Hodgson writes from her experiences with her Runners and her Buffs. The stories are theirs - she simply writes for the ducks.

Saving Sweetie
Just before sending out this month's newsletter, we received a call from a local vet whose client brought in their duck with an abscessed right foot. Rather than euthanizing Sweetie, their owners agreed to surrender her over to us, so she could have the operation and post-surgical care she requires.
Sweetie's surgery went extremely well and she'll arrive at our sanctuary (or more aptly, our sunroom!) on Halloween--trick or treat! (I guess we got the TREAT!)
